Why Is The Eagle The Symbol Used For This Website?
Deuteronomy 32:9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.
Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Deuteronomy 32:11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
Deuteronomy 32:12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
The image of the eagle is in no way a graven image or symbol of worship. It is a message. A message to GOD’S children. FATHER uses models to teach us, and in this case compares HIMSELF to an Eagle regarding the teaching and protection of HIS children. An eagle is known for its keen eyesight and how it protects and teaches its young. It will flutter over it’s young, keeping them safe from harm. If someone reaches under the wing of an eagle where its young are located, it is known that the eagle will take the fingers or hand of the aggressor off all the way to the bone. This power and agility of the eagle is why a handler working with an eagle will wear very thick gloves. An eagle will bear its young on it’s wings in flight and if the young should fall, the eagle is swift to fly under and catch the young before it suffers any harm. The Apple of your eye is the pupil of your eye. The eyelid is fast and will blink if anything comes near the eye or pupil of the eye. This is a protection mechanism. The Apple of HIS Eye in these verses means that GOD has complete focus on HIS children. HIS children are HIS portion, they are what HE loves most. Protecting and guiding them, HE watches them, as that is what HIS pupil is focused upon at all times. If anyone would do harm to them, it is as though they have poked GOD in HIS eye. Not good. GOD said HE chose the tribes of Israel to be a Holy people unto HIMSELF, and HE protects them and HE protected the seedline to CHRIST. GOD is that EAGLE that watches over us and protects us wherever HE leads us; that is, as long as we have no strange gods among us and as long as we abide by HIS laws. GOD changed Jacob’s name to Israel. Jacob is the natural seed, whereas Israel is the Spiritual. Jacob’s seed has an inheritance. That inheritance is by lot. It’s an inheritance of land for individuals and for families by family size. It’s the cord, the measuring instrument used by which we get our definition for a city lot. Whether we are physically related to the twelve sons of Jacob or not, if we are in CHRIST, we are a member of the family of Israel. This would mean that CHRIST is our inheritance.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Revelation 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
