SYMBOLS IN THE BIBLE

The Bible uses names, metaphors, types, idioms, euphemisms, and parables to present messages in Scripture to the election.

NAMES

Names of individuals or places often give information as to the context of a story or of the deeper or secret meaning that is being communicated by the story.

Example:

Luke 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

[
Note:
In order to solve who the “you” in the verses where JESUS is addressing a specific group of people are, we have to look in areas of a specific subject. In this case we can see that those being addressed can see and hear (understand) what JESUS speaks. To others, what JESUS speaks is a metaphoric riddle, or parable which they can not understand .

So, that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand, of those other than the “you” tells us that we need to find out who it is that does have eyes to see and ears to hear.
]

Once we identify those who can see and hear, we know who the “you” is in the verse above. By disassociation, we can also know that those who can’t see or hear must be the rest, or “others” in Luke 8:10.

Romans 11:2  God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Romans 11:3  Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

[
Note:
In Romans 2 and 3 above, we can see that Elias (Elias is the Greek name for Elijah in the Hebrew) is complaining to GOD against (not for) Israel. The reason is that Israel has digged down GOD’S alters and killed all of GOD’S prophets, except for Elijah, and they seek to kill Elijah also.
]

Romans 11:4  But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

[
Note:
GOD tells Elijah that HE has seven thousand that have not bowed to the image of baal (1 Kings 19:18). GOD says this in response to Elijah’s complaint. The image of baal is a type of satan’s one world system in which satan is the leader. So, we can see that Israel was worshiping satan. But these seven thousand, which according to verse two above, GOD foreknew, have never bowed to satan. Also note that seven thousand is not a literal number, but a number that means Zadoc, which means the justified ones (which are the election). And seven means all that are there are supposed to be there, but this is for another study. When GOD speaks of those HE foreknew, HE is usually speaking of HIS election; those that HE has chosen before the foundation of the world (See Ephesians chapter one).
]

Romans 11:5  Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

[
Note:
Paul is stating that at Paul’s present time, as well as at Elijah’s time, there is a remnant (left over or those left) that are chosen according to Grace. This indicates that there is always a remnant of the election through history up to the present time.
]

Romans 11:6  And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

[
Note:
I will tell you what I think verse six means, but whether I’m accurate or not isn’t an issue. I will give the bottom line of verse six at the end of this note. “And if by grace,” = it is by Grace, it says so in verse five above. “then is it no more of works:” = If it is no more of works, then it must have been of works at one time. If you read Ephesians one, and the post “The PREDESTINED”, you will see that it was of works and one time, and that time was before the foundation of the world (the previous age). “otherwise grace is no more grace.” = If you read “The PREDESTINED”, you will see that GOD had much to say about us in Ephesians chapter one. HE made a promise to us back at that time, and that promise is according to HIS Will and is HIS gift to us for what we did before the foundation of the world. GOD always keeps HIS promises and if HE did not, then Grace would not be Grace. “But if it be of works, then is it no more grace:” = If this promise depends on our works, then what gift of Grace is it? We already earned it. “otherwise work is no more work.” = If the work we did before the foundation of this world does not result in this Grace, then what work is it? What value does it hold? Now, verse six is a complicated verse and I hope I have it correctly understood as per it’s word for word meaning, but the bottom line, which is accurate is that it means: election is ordained of GOD on those that HE foreknew before the foundation of this world that have never bowed a knee to the image of baal. It means we are chosen because we fought with GOD to overthrow satan in the last age.
]

Romans 11:7  What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

[
Note:
Verse seven tells us that Israel failed to achieve what they wanted to achieve. But the election did obtain it. What did the election obtain? The election overcame satan. Israel failed to overcome satan. The election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded. To be blinded means you do not have eyes to see and ears to hear (which means you do not understand Scripture). The election has eyes to see and ears to hear. Now we know who the “you” is in Luke 8:10. It is the election.
]

Romans 11:8  (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

[
Note:
And we also know who the “others” are in Luke 8:10. It’s those that did not overcome satan before the foundation of the world. They do not have eyes to see or ears to hear. Remember, the context of this message pertains to those that GOD foreknew. Read Ephesians one, and “The PREDESTINED”, Parts one and two for an understanding of the election.

Luke 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
]

John 15:18  If the world hate G3404 you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

G3404
μισέω
miseō
Mis eh' o
From a primary word μῖσος misos (hatred); to detest (especially to persecute); by extension to love less:  hate (ful).

If the world persecuted JESUS, and we are JESUS’ election, as you can see by the “you” in Luke 8:10, then the world will persecute us also.

Job 1:1  There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; H347 and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

H347
אִיּוֹב
'ı̂yôb
ee yobe'
From H340; hated (that is, persecuted); Ijob, the patriarch famous for his patience:  Job.

[
Note:
Job was a type of the election. It was satan that persecuted Job. It is satan that persecutes us today; afterall it is currently satan’s world. But what do we know that perhaps Job did not know; for if he knew, would he not have called on GOD? And what do we have that is specifically spoken by and given to us by JESUS, HIMSELF?

Luke 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Luke 10:18  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Luke 10:20  Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Luke 10:21  In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Luke 10:22  All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

Luke 10:23  And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

Luke 10:24  For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
]

So, what’s in a name? Job was a type of the election, and his name means persecuted. And if you study the book of Job you will see that Job loved GOD with his whole being. We, the election have something very much in common, and that is persecution. As you develop those eyes to see and ears to hear, it will not be too uncommon for a name to jump right off the page and give you a preview understanding of what the Scriptures you are about to read involves.

METAPHORS

Metaphor:
noun
1. a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”

2. something used, or regarded as being used, to represent something else; emblem; symbol.

A metaphor is a model that is used to describe something other than the model itself. The model can facilitate a faster or deeper understanding, and it can also further the purpose of eyes to see and ears to hear.

Revelation 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

If you are waiting for something like godzilla, or gidra with seven heads to come up out of the sea, then you need to watch “Five Are Fallen” Parts One and Two, and “The Apocalypse - Isn’t it about time we know what these things really mean?”.

Don’t watch too much mainstream media entertainment. It’s much more fulfilling to know the TRUTH. And the TRUTH could save your life, your Eternal Life.

TYPES

Type:
[tahyp]
noun
1. a number of things or persons sharing a particular characteristic, or set of characteristics, that causes them to be regarded as a group, more or less precisely defined or designated; class; category:a criminal of the most vicious type.

2. a thing or person regarded as a member of a class or category; kind; sort (usually followed by of):This is some type of mushroom.

3. Informal . a person, regarded as reflecting or typifying a certain line of work, environment, etc.:a couple of civil service types.

An example of a type is that Jonah is a type of CHRIST. Or a car is a type of transportation and fits the same category as a horse and buggy. The Chariots of Fire in the Bible are not actually chariots. They are a much more powerful type of something else. The king of ancient Babylon is a type of the king of Babylon the great of the end time. The Bible is full of types that are given to us for examples to show us what will come upon us at the end of the age. Study the post: “Types” for an understanding of how to be aware of what we are to watch for at the end of the age.

IDIOMS

Idiom:
[id-ee-uh m]
noun
1. an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meanings of its constituent elements, as kick the bucket or hang one's head.

2. a language, dialect, or style of speaking peculiar to a people.

Different cultures have different idioms at different times. An example of an idiom in my culture at the time of this writing is: “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.”. Below is a link to a list of Hebrew Idioms that were valid at the time when the Holy Scriptures were being written. I did not prove all of them as to their accuracy, but the list does afford a better understanding of what idioms portray in Scripture. If you understand these idioms when you come across them in Scripture, it can aid in your understanding of the knowledge being presented.

“Idioms”

EUPHEMISMS

Euphemism:
[yoo-fuh-miz-uh m]
noun
1. the substitution of a mild, indirect, or vague expression for one thought to be offensive, harsh, or blunt.

2. the expression so substituted:
“To pass away” is a euphemism for “to die.”

Example:

Genesis 3:3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch H5060 it, lest ye die.

H5060
נָגַע
nâga‛
naw-gah'
A primitive root; properly to touch, that is, lay the hand upon (for any purpose; euphemistically, to lie with a woman); by implication to reach (figuratively to arrive, acquire); violently, to strike (punish, defeat, destroy, etc.): - beat, (X be able to) bring (down), cast, come (nigh), draw near (nigh), get up, happen, join, near, plague, reach (up), smite, strike, touch.

"shall ye touch" in Genesis 3:3 is a euphemism that is used in place of the more offensive, blunt, or harsh statement: "to lie with a woman".

PARABLES

Parable:
[par-uh-buhl]
noun

1. a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach some truth, religious principle, or moral lesson.

2. a statement or comment that conveys a meaning indirectly by the use of comparison, analogy, or the like.

A parable in Scripture is a riddle that is intended for the election to understand.

GOD says:

Jeremiah 29:13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Those who seek GOD diligently and in TRUTH, likely have a love for the TRUTH. They who do such things in my opinion are likely of GOD’S seven thousand, the election.

And JESUS says:

Luke 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

If you are finding yourself coming upon more and more TRUTH, and you are understanding TRUTH, then as you can see by the verses covered in this post, you must be of GOD’S election.

GOD also says:

Proverbs 8:17  I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

To seek GOD early means to seek HIM in TRUTH. The Bright and Morning Star means early light, which symbolizes TRUTH. JESUS is The Bright and Morning Star.

Revelation 22:16  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

So, if you love our FATHER, and you seek HIM in TRUTH, then that would be a sign of being election. Chosen from the foundation of the world.

Don’t forget however, that satan wants to be the morning star. But he is full of deception and there is no light in him. Those that do not have a love for the TRUTH will be sent a strong delusion to believe satan’s lie. That lie is that satan claims to be GOD in the form of JESUS. So, do not fall away to satan or get pulled in to his deceptions. Seek GOD early (in TRUTH).

2 Thessalonians 2:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2 Thessalonians 2:8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2 Thessalonians 2:9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2 Thessalonians 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2 Thessalonians 2:12  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The unrighteousness that they take pleasure in is thinking satan is JESUS and worshiping him as their savior because they did not have a love of the TRUTH.

If your heart is TRUE, and you are seeking GOD early, but you still have trouble taking in as much TRUTH as you would prefer to take in. Remember, we all have different gifts, abilities, and responsibilities as our destiny approaches. It’s possible that it is not your time to understand. Your time may be coming. Never give up. If you ask me, I will help you to the best of my abilities. But we all understand at different times. When it is your time to see TRUTH, you will see it.

Ask FATHER for wisdom and ask HIM for the latter rain:

James 1:5  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Zechariah 10:1  Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

If you do not understand the latter rain, study the post: “The Latter Rain”.

]

]

]

]

]

]

]

H347
אִיּוֹב
'ı̂yôb

From H340; hated (that is, persecuted); Ijob, the patriarch famous for his patience:  Job.

[
Note:
Job was a type of the election. It was satan that persecuted Job. It is satan that persecutes us today; afterall it is currently satan’s world. But what do we know that perhaps Job did not know; for if he knew, would he not have called on GOD? And what do we have that is specifically spoken by and given to us by JESUS, HIMSELF?

Luke 10:17  And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

Luke 10:24  For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
]

METAPHORS

A metaphor is a model that is used to describe something other than the model itself. The model can facilitate a faster or deeper understanding, and it can also further the purpose of eyes to see and ears to hear.

Revelation 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

TYPES

Type:
[tahyp]

EUPHEMISMS

]

]

]

]

]

]

]

]

EUPHEMISMS
